EZ Brakes Worlds Fastest, Most
Convenient External Brake Control!

For Tandem or Single Axle Trailers With
Electric brakes Developed by American Car Dolly and tested hard
since 1998 by RV Dealers, Trailer Dealers, Rental Places, Our
Company and thousands of our Personal Customers.
EZ Brakes were developed for those who do not have an
under dash mounted brake control and didn't want the hassle of
installing one or possibility of shorting out computers, air bags,
or other electrical obstacles in their vehicles.
EZ Brakes also has an accessory wire included for
those who need a charging wire or power wire for fifth wheel
campers, RV trailers, cargo trailers etc.
EZ Brakes just mounts on the trailer or jack and can
be secured safely by self-tapping screws, bolts or heavy nylon quick
ties.
EZ Brakes has an actual brake control inside a
weatherproof box that can be mounted in any position within reach of
tow vehicle and trailer. Brakes get power from the two brake lights
of the tow vehicle. EZ Brakes also has an external switch mounted on
side of box to shut power off to brakes when not needed eliminating
having to adjust brake control constantly, for example, when trailer
does not have a load on it.
The convenience of our EZ Brakes control are the
facts that no special wiring is needed, customer isn't delayed by
having tow vehicle tied up in a shop while having a brake control
mounted, trailer can be towed behind any vehicle that is properly
wired for trailer lights and EZ Brakes can be moved from trailer to
trailer if desired.
Cost efficiency is advantageous considering your
vehicle or trailer can be on the road immediately with functional
brakes and there's no risk of damaging any components inside tow
vehicle…
“EZ Brakes” Brake Control
EZ Instructions
EZ Brakes may be mounted on trailer OR tow vehicle either one but
must be mounted where trailer can reach to plug into EZ Brakes box
and harness from EZ Brakes can be plugged into back of tow vehicle. EZ Brakes box may be mounted in any position. Secure box to trailer
or tow vehicle with self-tapping screws, bolts, nylon quick ties or
any other feasible means. Box has mounting bracket which is actually
designed to go over a frame jack but may also be used to mount on
frame etc.
Most Important: Make sure tow vehicle is properly wired for
lights and or accessory wire (optional). Many times the position of
the ground wire is debatable. The center pole on a 6 or 7 way plug
is absolutely NOT the proper ground position in a standard wiring
schematic.
# 1. Plug trailer into EZ Brakes box then plug harness from EZ
brakes into tow vehicle.
Start tow vehicle because voltage changes when vehicle is running
and depress brakes. Brake lights MUST be on to set brake adjustment. This may be achieved by an assistant or a device such as a
windshield scraper from the brake pedal to the seat. Please be
careful not to puncture seat.
Go to back of tow vehicle and make sure brake lights are
functioning properly. If not, test plug to see if all terminals are
working. IF power is working properly through plug (you can see if
trailer lights are all functioning properly) then turn ON / OFF
switch on side of EZ Brakes box ON. Button should be pushed in at
top. Down position is OFF .
Open lid on top of EZ Brakes box and place finger on gain wheel
and turn back lightly until wheel stops. Light is usually green at
this point. (remember, brake lights must be on and vehicle running). Turn wheel toward bottom of box until LED light turns red. At this
point brakes are being activated and usually about another ¼ turn
(¼”) is sufficient but may vary depending on weight of trailer and
load being towed. Adjustment can be made accordingly so trailer
brakes do not lock up when towing. Close lid on box and test brakes
by moving vehicle on non slick surface (usually pavement) and
applying brakes. If brakes lock up or skid, then adjustment needs to
be made by turning gain wheel away from bottom of box until this
does not occur.
WARNINGS / Tips and Proper use of EZ Brakes :
Trailer brakes are designed to ASSIST the tow vehicle towing a
trailer, NOT to stop the tow vehicle. Improper use will result in
excessive abnormal wear and tear on trailer brakes and possibly
heating drums, brakes and bearings to a dangerous temperature
causing unnecessary damage to trailer or cargo being hauled. Over
adjustment can generate heat causing melting of bearing grease
resulting in damage to bearings and spindles.
